Guest Health & Safety During COVID 19
First and foremost, the health and safety of our guests, staff and community is our number one priority. We will follow and adhere to the strict guidelines established by the Vermont Department of Health, CDC, VOSHA, ACCD and guidelines provided by the American Hotel and Lodging Association’s “Safe Stay” program. Private Cottages, The Farmhouse and Tyler Cottage
Families and couples will have their own individual cottages. Pre-established family and/or friend pods can take advantage of the Farmhouse and Tyler Cottage suites or the larger cottages. All come with a living room, kitchenette, screened porch and a minimum of two bedrooms with some up to 5 bedrooms. Most cottages have a fireplace stocked with kindling and firewood and there are woodsheds located nearby if you need to resupply. We have made modifications to our services with your health and safety in mind such as eliminating daily housekeeping and providing extra towels and linens, your own pool towels and cleaning supplies.
We are spending extra time ensuring your cottage is thoroughly cleaned and sanitized for your arrival and there will be a minimum of 24 hours between guest use. Our Housekeeping team can drop off clean towels and linens outside your cottage as needed and our Maintenance staff will be on call to remove trash and assist if there are any problems. If you plan to stay longer than one week, our Housekeepers will clean your accommodation for you at no charge (but only if you would like them to).
While most cottages do not have a washing machine and dryer, we do have a limited guest laundry service available (Tuesday pick up and Wednesday delivery) for an additional charge.
Housekeeping and Maintenance will also increase the frequency of sanitizing common public touch points throughout the day such as sports equipment, pool furniture, waterfront equipment, doorknobs, faucets, etc.
We’ll be serving three fresh, simple, and locally sourced meals that can be picked up or delivered to your cottage. Or you can make a reservation to eat on the Inn Lawn and outdoor grill area with tables spaced to accommodate social distancing. Menus will include hot and cold breakfast choices, picnic lunch baskets with options, and dinners with at least 2 choices including a vegetarian option, as well as additional items available for children. Sample menus can be provided upon request.
For those with food allergies, menus are designed to provide choice and offer gluten, dairy and nut free options. Guests with other allergies or special food preferences should bring along extra food to prepare in their accommodation, if necessary.
Cocktails, Wine/Beer, Non-Alcoholic Beverages
To-go beverage service will be available at extra charge including Vermont craft beers, wine, cocktails, sodas and juice mid-day and evenings. Delivery is available if alcoholic beverages are ordered with a meal. Appetizers will be served between 5:00 and 6:00 p.m. from the Inn Lounge Deck at no charge and you're welcome to enjoy your drinks and appetizers at the tables on the Inn Lawn (spread out for your safety).
ADDITIONAL BENEFITS AT NO CHARGE
ONE-SPEED CRUISER BIKES & CHILDREN’S BIKES – We will work with you to determine the right fit and when you arrive you will find your bikes sanitized and ready to ride for the duration of your stay. Be sure to bring your own helmets.
WATERFRONT EQUIPMENT– Canoes, Kayaks, Sailboats, Row Boats, Peddle Boats and Stand-Up Paddleboards are available at our Boat Dock between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. daily. There is excellent bass, pike and perch fishing in Missisquoi Bay right from our stone dock (but we also have fishing boats available for an additional charge). Guests need to bring their own fishing equipment. Lifejackets are required while on the lake and will be provided for each member of your group and left for you in your accommodation.
HEATED INDOOR & OUTDOOR SWIMMING POOLS – Our two pools will be open for your enjoyment from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily. Depending on numbers there may be a sign-up in order to fulfill social distancing guidelines. Your cottage has been stocked with pool towels and we can replace them upon request.
OUTDOOR HOT TUB – Open from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily.
ON-SITE SPORTS & ACTIVITIES – Tennis Courts, Disc Golf Course, Basketball, Family Nature Activities, Horseshoes, Badminton, Volleyball, Bocce, Croquet, Mini-Golf, Driving Range, Running Trails, Playgrounds, Obstacle Course, Family Scavenger Hunt.
ROAD BIKING & MOUNTAIN BIKING – We think biking deserves its own category and if you are an avid cyclist we recommend you bring your own bike. We have some of the best road biking in Vermont with little traffic and 10-100 miles loops right from the Tyler Place (we'll provide maps) as well as a 7 mile network of mountain bike trails on our nearby Proper Pond property (with the option to rent one of our Trek mountain bikes if you don't have your own).
PEACEFUL PASTIMES & OUTDOOR SPACES – Our mile of private lakeshore, Gardens, Nature Trails, Hammocks, Picnic Areas, Lawn Spaces and Garden Library are fully available for your enjoyment. Birdwatching is great this time of year as the songbirds and water fowl are migrating!
FITNESS CENTER – The Fitness Center will be available for one-hour periods on a sign-up basis.
OFF PROPERTY TRIPS & ACTIVITIES – There is so much to see and do within a one hour drive - hike to the summit of Jay Peak, tour a local brewery, visit an organic farm, ride a gondola to the top of Mt. Mansfield, pick apples in the Champlain Island orchards - all while viewing the spectacular fall foliage. In your cottage, you will find an information packet with suggestions and maps of our favorite trips and activities.
WIFI SERVICE – We love to have you fully disconnect but we know that work and online classes may require WIFI. our brand new and upgraded WIFI system is available throughout the property.
Length of Stay
Given the additional housekeeping and safety requirements, we have a 3-night minimum stay…but you can stay up to 5 weeks!
Contactless Check-In & Check-Out
Choose your arrival time in advance and contact us when you get close. A member of our family or TP staff will meet you and show you to your cottage.
Guest Services & Security 24/7
Our Office and Maintenance staff will be available daily from 7 a.m. to 11 p.m. and Security patrols the property from 11 p.m. to 7 a.m.
We are offering massage services during your stay in a clean, private and well-ventilated massage room on the premises. Andrea Boswell, certified massage therapist with 35 years of experience, will be available and offers a variety of treatments including Swedish, Sports and Therapeutic massage. Appointments should be set up in advance and if you are interested, we can provide you with Andrea’s contact information so you can inquire about safety and sanitation procedures before booking a treatment with her.
We also love animals, but for safety and health reasons The Tyler Place does not offer pet-friendly accommodations. However, there is a pet-sitting service right down the road whom many of our guests recommend … and gives you an opportunity to visit your pet during your stay.

Note: Adult rates vary within the noted ranges depending on length of stay and type of cottage.
We require a 2-day deposit at the time you book your reservation for a stay of one week or less. Longer stays require an additional deposit.
You must cancel 5 days in advance of your arrival date in order to receive a full refund of your deposit (minus a $100 booking fee). Should you need to cancel due to the COVID 19 crisis, please contact us as soon as possible.
